The Institute of Public Enterprise (IPE) hosted the Annual Finance Conference 2025 during April 28–29 at its Shamirpet campus in Hyderabad.
The Institute of Public Enterprise (IPE) successfully organised the Annual Finance Conference 2025 during April 28–29, 2025, at its Shamirpet Campus, Hyderabad. The two-day academic event brought together researchers, academicians, and industry practitioners to deliberate on the evolving role of finance in enabling value creation, inclusive growth, technological innovation, and evidence-based policy making.
The inaugural session was graced by Prof. (Dr.) N. R. Parashuraman, former Director of SDMIMD, Mysuru, as the Chief Guest, and Mr. Mohith, Co-founder and CFO of Utsuk Consulting Solutions, as the Guest of Honour. Prof. Parashuraman, in his keynote address, highlighted that while financial technology and AI are transforming decisions across sectors, core principles like corporate governance and market understanding remain essential, urging scholars to analyse deeper structural shifts in finance.
Mr. Mohith, addressing the evolving needs of finance professionals, stressed the importance of strategic foresight, strong communication, and global competitiveness, alongside technical skills.
The Valedictory Session was graced by Prof. (Dr.) M. S. Narasimhan, Professor at IIM Bangalore, as the Chief Guest, and Prof. (Dr.) D. Chennappa, Professor at Osmania University and President of the Telangana Commerce Association, as the Guest of Honour. In his address, Prof. Narasimhan called for identifying new areas of financial research aligned with global trade and investment trends. He noted that India stands to benefit from shifting tariffs and evolving FDI flows, provided these opportunities are supported by robust academic insight. Prof. D Chennappa emphasized the need for research that extends its impact beyond academia. He highlighted the role of inclusive financial systems in achieving the vision of Viksit Bharat@2047 and advised the scholars to make their research socially relevant.
Prof. (Dr.) S. Sreenivasa Murthy, Director of IPE and Chairman of the Conference, emphasised that modern finance intersects with sustainability, governance, and grassroots development, and stressed that researchers should adopt interdisciplinary approaches aligned with national priorities.
The two-day conference featured 53 peer-reviewed papers (shortlisted out of 176 papers) across six themes-including corporate finance, financial markets, behavioural finance, fintech and banking innovations, corporate governance and sustainability, and financial inclusion and literacy. The papers were presented by academicians from premier institutions including IITs, IIMs, NITs, central and state universities, and private institutes. Organised by the Centre for Financial Education (CFE), IPE, the conference was chaired by Prof. (Dr.) S. Sreenivasa Murthy and convened by Prof. (Dr.) Y. Rama Krishna, with Dr. Swati Mathur and Dr. P. Kalyani as co-convenors.
