The Post Graduate Diploma in Management in Banking, Insurance and Financial Service (PGDM – BIF) which started in 2008 is a two year full time programme approved by All India Council For Technical Education (AICTE).
The programme is designed to groom future managers who can successfully handle complex business issues. In the changing global scenario, innovation is a major driving force for achieving competitive advantage through creation of new business opportunities. To meet this challenge there is a huge requirement of trained banking and financial professionals in the country. The program aims to churn out skilled and talented Finance and Management professionals to fulfil the requirement of the corporate sector in general and Banking Insurance and Financial Services sector in particular. This rigorous training at IPE would enable them to be industry-ready.

Programme Educational Objectives
PEO1: To impart knowledge on a wide range of concepts relating to management, banking, insurance and financial services.

PEO3: To facilitate accelerated learning and an in-depth understanding of practices and ethics of management in general and Banking, Insurance & Financial Services in particular.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
Eligibility
The candidates fulfilling all criteria are eligible for the offered programs: the Candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA(45% in case of SC/ST/BC Candidates), from any UGC recognized University or the Ministry of HRD, GOI. Candidates appearing for the Final year degree Examinations (or equivalent examination) can also apply. The proof of acquiring the Qualification should be submitted within four weeks from the date of commencement of the course.
Selection Procedure
Final selection will be based on the performance of the candidate’s score in CAT/XAT/MAT/ATMA/CMAT/GMAT, Group Discussion and Personal Interview and a consistent Academic Record. Equal weightage shall be given to the Performance in Admission Test, Group Discussion, Personal Interviews and consistent Academic Record.
Curriculum and Pedagogy
The program has the state-of-the-art curriculum with stress on the Banking sector. Banking, Insurance and Finance professionals face the challenge of continuously innovating and improving their products and services. Currently banks provide more or less similar products and services in the face of competition. Retaining market has become all the more difficult in this scenario, innovation is a major driving force for achieving a competitive advantage through creation of new business opportunities. To meet this challenge, there is a huge requirement of trained banking and finance professionals in the country. The course provides both theoretical and practical orientation to the students to meet the changing scenarios of global competitive environment.
As an out-of-the-class exercise, PGDM-BIF students are mentored and encouraged to participate in apex conferences organized by National and International bodies like SEBI, NISM etc.
PROGRAM’S PLACEMENT OPPORTUNITIES
By design, this program facilitates placement of candidates in banks, financial Institutions, insurance sector and other non-banking financial companies and financial departments of corporations. The faculty and students actively participate in placements in collaboration with the Placement Division.
