Doctoral research at the Institute of Public Enterprise is one of the oldest and largest in the field of social sciences. IPE is recognized as a ‘Centre of Excellence’ for doctoral studies by the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), Ministry of Education(MoE) (earlier Ministry of Human Resource Development), Government of India.  The research wing of the Institute is complemented with a strong faculty contingent and number of Ph.D. research scholars, sponsored by ICSSR and IPE, who work on various fields of management and social sciences as well as on identified thrust areas of research.  More than 120 Ph.Ds have been produced by the Institute.

Institutional Doctoral Fellowship

Under the aegis of ICSSR, IPE offers Doctoral Research Fellowships in Social Sciences each year. This program is designed to equip students and teachers for careers in education and research.

IPE National Research Fellowship

IPE has launched an innovative National Research Fellowship (NRF) from the year 2019-20.  The NRF has been introduced with the objective of bringing rigour in social sciences research in general and in the disciplines of Management, Commerce, and Economics in particular.
