Book Chapters Publications

In addition to authoring and editing full-length books, faculty at the Institute of Public Enterprise contribute chapters to edited volumes published by reputed academic presses. These contributions form part of the Institute’s broader research output and are recognised, alongside books and journal articles, in the annual faculty research evaluation.

Book chapters authored by faculty have addressed themes such as:

• Corporate social responsibility in hazardous and high-risk industry sectors
• Responsible business conduct in the Indian corporate context
• Bridging skill gaps through corporate social responsibility initiatives
• Global perspectives on CSR practice and policy

These chapters have appeared in edited volumes such as Corporate Social Responsibility: The Changing Perspective (Mishra & Sarkar, Eds.), published by Academic Foundation, New Delhi, reflecting sustained faculty engagement with contemporary issues in governance, sustainability, and corporate responsibility. Faculty at the Institute of Public Enterprise develop and publish case studies documenting real-world organisational practice, drawing on research and consultancy engagements with public and private sector entities. These case studies form part of the Institute’s published research output and are also used to enrich classroom teaching, enabling experiential, practice-oriented learning for management students.

Case studies developed by faculty have covered subjects such as:

• Public sector enterprise turnaround and growth, including the transformation of Neyveli Lignite Corporation into NLC India
• State-sponsored food security and public distribution programmes, such as Amma Unavagam
• Community-based eco-tourism and sustainable livelihood models
• Water resource management at the district and regional level

These case studies have been published in recognised outlets, including Emerald Emerging Markets Case Studies, and through the Institute’s own in-house journals, which carry a dedicated section for case-based research alongside policy papers and empirical studies. This work reflects the Institute’s continuing effort to connect research directly with institutional and policy practice.
