A Word from Placement Co-ordinator - 2011 Recruitments at a Glance

It gives me immense pleasure to present, for the seventh successive year, Annual Placement Activity Report for the Class of 2011.

Apart from organizing the Nurturing camp to fine tune the student’s disposition in terms of conceptual clarity etc, we have also undertaken the mentoring activity in a big way with the full support of the management in general and faculty in particular.

As usual right from the conceptualization of cover design, printing of brochure, distribution etc students were involved, apart from taking their assistance in the recruitment process. The placement season of 2011 at IPE saw 314 students (120 from PGDM, 61 from PGDM –RM , 61 from PGDM-BIF, 60 from PGDM-IB & 14 from PGDM-BT) participating in the process.

As a result of all the above, 137 companies have participated in the placement process, either by visiting our campus / by calling the students to their offices.

The Star recruiters for this year are Oracle India, Tata Consultancy Services, Infosys Pvt. Ltd, Midhani, Rajiv Swagruha Corp. Pvt. Ltd., Sify Technology Pvt. Ltd., NMDC Ltd., CRISIL Pvt. Ltd., Havells India Ltd., Vodafone Essar Ltd., HSBC Invest, Franklin Templeton, Videocon Industries Ltd. etc.

We deputed faculty to  visit to places like Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, New Delhi, as a part of our continued exercise to create an image and to extend the outreach of our students and as a result new companies like Datawise Ltd., DMV Global Data, Capital IQ,  etc visited IPE for Campus Recruitment.

Some of the other focused activities undertaken by the Placement Committee are:

• Career counseling by the faculty and the trained professionals in different functional areas
• Personality development program for the students to hone up their interview skills
• Arranging alumni meet wherein our alumni not only shared their experiences vis –a-vis the realities of the corporate life but also enlightened their juniors on the growing expectation of the corporate world.

Having presented a brief report of the Placement Activity for the Class of 2011 I will be failing in my duty if I don’t acknowledge the support and guidance received from my colleagues both from academic and non-academic. Firstly, I would like to place on the top of the record the help and guidance extended by our beloved Director Prof. R K Mishra, who never spares an effort on his part either in guiding us or in lending us the required help. Secondly, all the Course Coordinators, my other senior colleagues who were not only critical in reviewing our work but were never found wanting when it came to extending all the required cooperation and support, but for which we in the placement committee would not have been able to do a good  job.

Next, I would like to thank my colleagues from the Placement Committee who were extremely cooperative with their suggestions / views. I also thank my other faculty colleagues for sparing some of their valuable time and visiting the companies/ or for taking part in conducting Mock Interviews / Group Discussions etc. I also wish to thank Mr. Satyam N Kandula, Sr.A O (Admn), Mr Goverdhan, AO, and other officers & staff members for their timely support to make the placement operations a success.

I also take this opportunity to thank all my faculty colleagues and the non-academic staff for their continued support and unstinted cooperation. Last but not the least I do like to thank my colleague from the Placement Divison  Ms Shailaja HV for her sincere and dedicated efforts, first for assisting us in the placement process and then in bringing out this Annul Placement Activity Report in a presentable manner.  Before I conclude, let me also thank the Members of the Student’s Placement Committee who did a commendable job in handling the tedious activity by taking time off their rigorous schedule. My appreciation to Mr.G Omana Kuttan for assisting us throughout the year in the Placement activity with a smile always on his face. We in the Placement Committee would love to hear from our colleagues of any suggestions to improve the placement activity report in particular and placement activity in general.  Wishing all of us for a rejuvenated placement activity for the Class of 2012 and assuring you the best of the services in Placements at all the time, I remain.
